Joining the Tech world

Sharing My experience So far

In my high school, i was good at computer and solved all tasks with ease that my felows reached a point of calling me a computer wizard. Nevertheless i was privileged to join university at Muni University and i chose the bachelor of information systems program. Its from this program that i was introduced to a series of courses some of which i saw them as out of scope for example ethics and peace, yet they were equally important. In my view i thought since its information systems that i should focus on its related components which was not the case. As we carried along, i was introduced to programming languages like basic html, css, php and python whose i enjoyed most and couldnt miss since they were more practical and i had never interacted with them.

My best though strict instructor that time was Mr Jerry tebandeke who took us through fundamentals of programming with python for a full semester. I liked his mode of delivery since he couldn't come with notes to read but only his head and questions to accomplish. Mostly he used to have interactive classes where we worked on code together, sweated with code until it executed what we wanted it to do. Its this moment that i realised thinking out of the box could save someone. When given programming assignments i made sure that my code is different from all the rest's that is to say colleagues for each individual assignment, i did three different structure of code and made sure one was complicated, another medium and another very easy but all returning similar results. This gave me an insight of thinking beyond that is to say restructuring what i have been given to make it in a different format but accomplishing the same task. Besides this i loved solving errors affecting computers which in the long run i solved with the help of google and my first error to solve was > "This program is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file." and i took more than three hours to solve but on solving it, i felt like life is back.

Later on I was introduced to the Google developer students club where they trained us on different technologies in tech. I got so much interested in it and started attending their sessions every other day they could organize. Since i saw my fellow students knowing things better than i did and they were confident and could build software's for example using, django ionic framework, using WordPress among other technologies. Its from this time that i took step to build my first mobile money application in python using black screen idle and when it worked properly i looked on to translating it to front end. Its from this time round that i started building small projects and some stopped on even simple html forms that i could connect to back end. i thereafter took on the position of the lead of the developer student club which gave me more insight and built confidence in me by networking with other leads globally and working hard to contribute to the annual solution challenge.

Until now i have built a number of softwares that is to say websites and web applications and this helped me to feel confident at the time of final year project where i and team built an automated typing tool with a scope of printed text. Presently i do love what i do, i have passion for it and i love web development and iam looking forward to publishing more software's on to the web, impacting the community as well as contributing to the open source community. As well i am looking forward to learning more in the side of machine learning, internet of things and artificial intelligence to create an adorable environment out there.

iam laban.
